Students and staff at Muhlenberg South Elementary took turns on Thursday, September 12, going on a bear hunt through trails created by staff members behind the school. Each student was given a "walking stick" and were given clues throughout the adventure that led them to a surprise dance party in the school's courtyard complete with beach balls, bubble machine, and fun music. As an added bonus, a conservation officer shared outdoor safety tips with classes.
There were 30 bears hidden throughout the trails and several staff members and parent volunteers to help guide each class. Parker, a Kindergarten student, had this to say about the adventure, "My favorite part was finding some bears and the most fun thing was having those (walking) sticks." He also shared that he had been sweating out there but had a great time!
MSES has an outdoor adventure theme this year and the entire school is decorated for students to enjoy. A huge thank you goes out to all who worked together in making this Bear Hunt an exciting, educational adventure the students will remember!
